Course Content The course outlines the history of political thought as relevant to international relations, specifically, political thought on war and peace. Within this context, the course compares the way in which political philosophers, including Hobbes, Locke, Grotius, Rousseau, Hegel, Marx and more recent thinkers have conceived of the state of nature between individuals and between states, as well as the views of each thinker on how to achieve peace.
