Course Content

The essential purpose of this graduate course is to create an in-depth understanding of Japan's Foreign Relations in the Post-War Era. After a brief explanation of Japan's political system and foreign policy orientations, her attitudes towards Asian Countries, the USA, the USSR (Russia), the EEC and the Middle East will be discussed and analyzed in detail. Special emphasis will be given to Japan's growing economic role and influence in international politics.
